Ekel/Malie Coenzyme Q10, Collagen, Aloe, Pearl and Vitamin Ultra Hydrating Essence Mask Review

This is going to be a joint review. I had a few different kinds from the same brand off Ebay, but most weren´t that awesome to merit a single post about them.
I still love the cucumber mask from them the best, use them fairly regurarly when my skin needs soothing.
Also I´m fairly sure the Ekel and Malie masks are the same brand, or at least their packaging is eerily simiral.... So that´s why they got rounded up together.

Ekel Coenzyme Q10 Ultra Hydrating Essence Mask
I have only a few notes about this mask, mainly that it had no scent. It was quiet pleasant and hydrating. Also didn´t broke me out.
All together wasn´t an unpleasant experience but nothing too exciting either. I still have one left, but I won´t repurchase it.

Ekel Collagen Ultra Hydrating Essence Mask
Again, no scent. Only few drops of essence remained at the bottom of the packet.
Good enough for moisturising but nothing else. Supposedly collagen is good for skin elasticity, but I´m not sure about the percentage of it in this mask and any effect should be visible after long term use.
Anyway, I wasn´t hoping for anything miraculous either.

Malie Aloe Ultra Hydrating Essence Mask
This mask had a faint aloe vera scent, nothing bothersome. There was even less essence than in the previous one´s and dried out too quickly too. Not sure if just mine was like that or the whole aloe vera line.
Also looks like the fit is a hit or miss at these masks, which is baffling, I would think they had the same measurements or something. This hardly could cover my face, especially the sides.

Malie Pearl Ultra Hydrating Essence Mask
This had a better fit than the aloe, but again less essence than I´m used to. The scent was kind of parfume-y, not unpleasant but certainly artifical. I´ve had good experiences with pearl masks before (even budget ones) but this one did´t really live up to that.

Malie Vitamin Ultra Hydrating Essence Mask
Parfume-y scent, but much more pleasant and faint than the pearl mask. The packet was full of essence to dab on after removing the mask. I had it on for 40 minutes and it was still damp.
The fit was really great too and it actually had a bit of a brightening effect.
Definitely this was my favourite from these five masks.

In conclusion: These are budget masks, you can get them from 0,70 USD/piece. So you shouldn´t wait for miracles, but most of them are good as a moisturising boost and just for relaxing at home.

I didn´t break out from any of them, but everyone is different and most of the time I´ve included a picture of the ingredients too, so if you know about something you had problem before, see if it occurs here.
Now that I´ve mentioned it, only the Malie ones have English ingredients, and other cities written on the front of the package, under the logo. I might guess, that these were intended for English speaking countries, because the Ekel ones are only in Korean and Japanese.

I have a few more from this brand, if they won´t be too interesting I´ll just write about them a similar post.
Have you tried these brands before? How did you like it?

My next post should be about another Jolse Random Box (with COSRX Snail Cream) and Skin18 Ingredient Box. Both just came in the mail and they are really great!

  1. Hi! I purchased a packet (40 pieces or something) of these different masks from eBay, because they were cheap (0,50€/pcs). Here, back home in Finland, similar sheet masks are much more expensive, like 2 euros or per pcs. I am quite happy with these and they are good value for money, but like you said, budget masks and do not make any miracles. My favourite was snake mask.

    1. Hi! Thank you for your comment! :)
We have recently started to have masks like these in drugstores, but more than 5€!😱 Not sure if someone would buy them...
Yes, I have my favourite from them but the others are just average. Oh, I haven't yet tried the snake mask. What is it good for? :)
